The M Series disposers have been designed with safety in mind. The horror stories you have seen on TV are fictional. There are no blades or knives in a disposer, so you can rest assured that your limbs are perfectly safe.
Using an M Series disposer couldn't be easier. Always start by running a low stream of cold water. This will help solidify food waste, allowing it to be easily flushed through your plumbing. Now turn on the disposer and slowly add food scraps without overloading (bear in mind that the bigger the grind chamber of your disposer, the more food it can handle at once). Listen out for the grinding to stop and turn off your disposer whilst letting the cold water run for another 10 seconds.
The M Series can dispose of most food waste, including chicken bones. However stringy and fibrous materials such as banana peel are only recommended to be used with an Evolution disposer.
